I first created this piece in 2022, almost a week after the October 31st termination of DACA, which was replaced by the DACA Final Rule.

Now in 2024, The Final Rule still stands. While current DACA recipients continue to be eligible for renewal, potential new applicants remain barred from participation. Though there are some federal agencies, old (Unaccompanied Minors Program, est. 2002) and new-ish (Family Reunification Task Force, est. 2021) making attempts to aid current undocumented youth at risk of homelessness or trafficking and reunify those torn away from their families at the border, it remains clear that we need to enact real immigration reform policies. Policies that destigmatize these individuals and their family members and gives them real opportunities to integrate and be contributing members of society without the constant threat of persecution.

One hundred percent of the proceeds from minting this NFT will go towards the US Committee For Refugees and Migrants, a nonprofit that aids with providing legal representation for migrant children and their family members. Every subsequent sale will be split 50-50 with the seller and the foundation.
